5 Reasons Why ‘Watch The Throne’ Would Have Been Better With Jay-Z & Nas

I know the album’s been out for about a month now, but I figured I’d add my own two cents. When Jay-Z and Kanye West announced they’d be dropping a joint album, my first thought was ok this should be crazy! Then I started thinking about how much better it would have been if the collaboration was with Jay-Z and Nas, instead.
I’m not saying ‘Watch The Throne’ was a bad album! I just figured with all the promotion, videos, the title of the album, etc., the album should have been epic!! So, I came up with a few reasons why I feel the album would’ve been better with Nas & Jay-Z.

In no particular order…

1) Kanye and Jay-Z were always friends. Kanye looks up to Jay-Z, so it just gives a whole different feeling to the situation. Jay may respect Kanye lyrically, but in my opinion Jay wasn’t that obsessed with trying to outdo Kanye on every track.

2) Jay-Z and Nas were former enemies. Jay-Z said himself that he lost that battle, no matter how cool he may seem with Nas now, I know he would be trying to avenge that L the whole album. I also feel that Nas wouldn’t allow Jay to think  he got the best of him so Nas would be on his A game the whole album.

3) If you ever heard ‘Black Republicans’ you know what type of music is possible when these two get together. I did not hear one record on Watch The Throne’ that gave me the feeling I got when I listened to ‘Black Republicans’.

4) Jay and Nas are at the top of the list when it comes to rappers in the game. No matter who you ask, when it comes to favorite rapper of all time, top 5 dead or alive, best rapper in the game,  Jay-Z & Nas will always be mentioned in those arguments. Even if you don’t like either of them, you have to respect their craft.

5) My Last reason why Jay-Z and Nas should of made the Watch The Throne album instead of Jay-Z and Kanye West is, instead of basing who the best rapper alive is off a few diss tracks, the fans can get a full album to listen and really be able to decide (although there would probably still be an argument) who the overall better rapper is.

I know the idea of making a joint album between the two had to be brought to the attention of either or Jay and Nas. Either one or both of them might of been scared or just did not think it was a good idea. Either way, I still feel the same way. Again, I don’t think Watch The Throne’ was a bad album, I just feel if these two artist (Jay-Z & Nas) would have crated it, the outcome would have been better.
